Coaching Education: Getting Started
The League is hosting opportunities for coaches without any approved coaching credentials to receive their entry-level coaching diplomas through United Soccer Coaches OR the US Soccer Coaching License Pathway.
The WPL accepts both.
WPL coaches must meet these minimum coaching standards to coach in the Development, Copa and Classic levels.
To view the National 1 (N1) League Coach Eligibility Requirements, please see the N1 Handbook (Rule 3.3).
For coaches without any credentials, they must complete the Grassroots or United Soccer Coaches’ entry-level Foundations Diplomas to comply with league minimum coaching standards. These courses can be taken online at anytime or in-person as the Diplomas are scheduled.
United Soccer Coaches Entry Level Diplomas:
- 4 v 4 Foundations Diploma (online) or State Diploma (in-person)
- 7 v 7 / 9 v 9 Foundations Diploma (online) or Regional Diploma (in-person)
- 11 v 11 / Pre-National Foundations (online) or Advanced Regional Diploma (in-person)
